Bruce Medeiros, CPA, of Providence has been appointed Manager and Director of Education and Training at Yarlas, Kaplan, Santilli & Moran, Ltd., Certified Public Accounts and Business Consultants, also of Providence and among Rhode Island's largest and most prestigious accounting firms.
Medeiros, who joined the firm in 2000, said his focus is on the development of all staff members, as the accounting profession continues to transition technologically.
Responsibilities as Manager and Director of Education and Training include educating staff members with understanding and application of accounting principles, audit standards, and internal control systems, and training staff members with maximizing use of integrated workflow software and tools in order to improve engagement efficiency, enhance productivity and reduce operating costs.
Medeiros, 42, most recently was a supervisor with the firm, overseeing a dozen staff members. Experiences include audit engagements for construction contractors, employee benefit plans, and non-profit organizations. Medeiros has experience with various industries and has assisted clients with financial statement compilation and review engagements, tax compliance, and general business consulting.
With a professional staff of more than 25 certified public accountants and junior accountants and several support staff, Yarlas, Kaplan, Santilli & Moran, Ltd. is involved in virtually all aspects of accounting and business consulting. In addition to traditional services provided by CPA firms, YKSM also provides many specialty services.
Raised in Dartmouth, MA, Medeiros is a graduate of Dartmouth High School. He has an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from Bristol Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from U-Mass Dartmouth, and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI.
Medeiros is also the firm's representative to the Smaller Business Association of New England.
